We understand that entering the coffee roasting business will require some big investments. The company premises, inventory, espresso machines, grinders, and the most important piece of machinery; the commercial roaster itself. To accommodate the people who are looking for a more affordable commercial roaster but don’t want to compromise on quality, we started up our second-hand coffee roasters division. In this article, we would like to tell you all about our range.
1. Extend the roasters’ lifetime
Let’s start off by telling you about the lifecycle of our roasters. Since all Giesen roasters are built using long-lasting high-quality materials, they are very durable and are able to keep operating for many years. Well, if that’s the case, why would people trade in their roaster? It’s simple; there are lots of roasteries that are switching to a roaster that’s capable of roasting bigger batches of coffee or has updated internal technology. Since the machines that are traded in are still in great condition, we offer our customers the possibility to trade-in the ‘old’ roaster when in the market for a new machine.
2. The Giesen-treatment
When the trade-in roasters get back to our factory, the first thing we do is revise and restore the machines. Because of our heritage in the coffee roaster business we are highly experienced in the production of coffee roaster parts in both the older and newer roasters. We love to use our experience and knowledge to give the used roasters a second life.
So, what exactly are we doing to the pre-used machines that come in? First of all, we take apart the entire roaster. This way we get a clear view of the state of the machine which is important to define which parts need replacement and which parts are still in perfect condition. Our standard procedure includes a motor refurbishment and a repaint of all the parts. Painting the parts gives the machine a fresh look and makes it appear like it’s brand new.
3. Thorough refurbishment of second-hand commercial roasters
You can imagine that the much older machines need a more sophisticated refurbishment. For example; gas and electrical installations need to meet the much stricter requirements and certification. We will provide custom-made solutions to overcome these challenges, of course in consultation with the customer. This way we can update the machine completely according to the customer’s wishes and demands. We want to get a clear view of your expectations, requirements, and needs. Do you want to keep the patina of the used roaster and not paint the parts? No problem! Would you like to add wooden or chrome accents? That’s possible. Just like with our new roasters, it’s possible for you to fully customize the second-hand commercial roaster to your taste.
