Facts about Giesen Coffee Roasters

When we start to talk about coffee, most of the time we can’t manage to stop. What can we say? At Giesen we don’t just love to build our coffee roasters, we love everything about the coffee process. Which is why we share these five facts about coffee.

There’s a lot to tell about Giesen. For example, did you know that we almost have an anniversary this year? Get to know all the ins and outs through these 10 facts about Giesen.

1. We started as a metalware company

Did you know that Giesen Coffee roasters started 30 years ago as a metalware company? This all changed in 2006 when the Giesen family decided to focus on the production of high quality coffee roasters.  

2. We almost have an anniversary 

Giesen Coffee Roasters exists for 14 years now. So that means in one year we celebrate our 15 year anniversary!  

3. Giesen is a family company

Giesen was, and still is, a family company. After all those years, the family still fulfills an active and important role in the success of our coffee roasters. 

 4. We have two Giesen ambassadors

We have a lot of employees at Giesen. However, we also have two Giesen ambassadors. The first one is Willem Boot. He’s the owner of ‘Boot Coffee’ and our collaboration goes way back. Our latest ambassador is Cisca from ‘Miss Morrison’. They both know a lot about roasting coffee. 

5. We host unique monthly webinars

Already seen our monthly Giesen Webinar? Each time, Willem Boot, Marcus Young and David Sutfin discuss various topics about everything you need to know about roasting. Here, you can check them out. 

 6. The whole production process takes place in the Netherlands

The whole production of our coffee roasters takes place in Ulft, a small village in the east of the Netherlands. 

7. Besides gas roasters, we also provide electric coffee roasters

At Giesen, we have many types of coffee roasters. For example, you can choose between various sizes and capacities. But besides that, you can also choose between a gas our electric roaster. Most of our roasters are gas roasters, but we also developed three electric ones.  

8. The front plates of our roasters are made of cast iron

All the front plates from our roasters are made of cast iron. The cast iron retains heat for a longer period of time. By retaining the heat, we can create a constant temperature. 

 9. Our roasters are Dutch craftmanship

Our roasters are built by skilled craftsman and individually tested in our production centre, which is located in Ulft.

10.  All our metals are from Europe

Did you know that all the metals we use for the production of our Giesen Coffee Roasters, are from Europe? That way, we keep it close to home.
