AmsterdamCoffeeFestival-LogoLast Friday & Saturday 2-3 May The Amsterdam Coffee Festival took place at the former shipyard NDSM of Amsterdam. We were there and are very proud that Giesen Coffee Roasters was one of the main sponsors. We would like to thank you all for visiting us!

The Amsterdam Coffee Festival Program

On Friday 2 May the festival was open for coffee professionals of all kinds. It was very crowded and the atmosphere was really nice. Here we met a lot of coffee professionals and we were able to demonstrate our Coffee Roasters to them.

At 5:00 pm the event was opened for the public and on Friday night and Saturday the visitors were mainly food and coffee lovers. It was possible to see all the latest trends and products of the coffee industry, there were coffee and food samples, tastings on artisan food markets, demos and live music.

Dutch Roasting Championship on the Giesen W6

Several important SCAE Championships were held at The Amsterdam Coffee Festival: the Dutch Barista Championship Final, the Latte Art Final, the Brewer’s Cup Final and of course the Dutch Coffee Roasting Cup. Some of the best European barista’s were present for these events.

The Dutch Coffee Roasting Cup was extra special for us as sponsor. We supplied two Giesen W6 Coffee Roasters which were used by coffee professionals to compete in this tournament. This championship was very exciting and the jury elected Bjorn Aarts as the well deserved Champion of 2014. Congratulations, Bjorn!

So now we have to wait another year for the next Amsterdam Coffee Festival. Luckily we still have the afterglow of this exciting weekend. For more information about The Amsterdam Coffee Festival, you can visit their website. Thank you all very much for visiting us and we hope to see you there (again) in 2015!
