Why did you decide to start your own business? I wanted to not just understand how to make amazing coffee, but what made it. Roasting leads me down the path of understanding the journey from farm to cup.

With the knowledge of today, would you have done things differently? Can you name some beginners’ mistakes? Don’t run yourself into the ground! work hard, understand your tolerances, then work smart. Use relationships built and lessons learned to propel your understanding of the business you are in.
How do you become a successful roaster: Become a service, not just a roaster.
How many hours of roasting and studying does it take to become a roasting expert? I am 6 years deep and still learning. You never stop – that’s why it’s fun!
