It is now two weeks ago that the World Coffee Roasting Championship was held in Rimini. This Championship is one of the newest SCAE Championships and as a sponsor we like to tell you more about it in this blogpost.

Launch at the World of Coffee in Nice

The World Coffee Roasting Championship debuted in 2013 in Nice, France. This new championship was founded by SCAE (the Specialty Coffee Association of Europe) and it was one of the main championships during the World of Coffee event, together with other championships like the World Barista Championship and the World Brewers Cup.

As a sponsor we supply the coffee roasters that are used during the World Coffee Roasting Championship.

World Coffee Roasting Championship

The World Coffee Roasting Championship features the talent and skill of the dedicated men and women involved in the artisanal craft of roasting specialty coffee. The World Coffee Roasting Championship consists of 3 stages in which the competitors are evaluated: First on their performance evaluating the quality of green coffee (coffee grading), secondly on the development of a roasting profile that best accentuates the desirable characteristics of that coffee and thirdly on the ultimate cup quality of the coffees they roasted.
