Molokai coffee

This beloved beverage is originated from the island of Moloka’i. The island contains around 7400 residents and is one of the Hawaiian Islands. In the village Kualapu’u, you find a coffee plantation of 57 hectares. A large amount of the coffee plants on Moloka’i, are the Arabica varietal called ‘Red Catuai’. Only coffee from the island of Moloka’i, is considered 100% Molokai coffee. So, if you like to try this beverage make sure you order the right coffee.

History

Around 1980, businessmen looked for a place in Hawaii to grow high-quality Arabica Beans and Moloka’i was selected because they thought it was the best location. Around 1993, the first commercial harvest was accomplished. Today, they own a plantation of 57 hectares, and they aren’t finished yet.

Varieties

If you like to try 100% Molokai coffee, you can choose between different varieties. Pick ‘Malulani Estate, which is a rich-bodied coffee with mild acidity and a hint of chocolate. Or choose the Hawaiian Espresso, Molokai Island Princess, Muleskinner Peaberry, or the Mululani Estate Peaberry. All 100% Molokai coffee beans.
